The folks at cobra engineering not only asked that question, they came up with an answer: The thing i have noticed is the idle hanges on before droping to the correct idle speed and jerks at constant low throttle , it might have done this before but i could not. If you have the cobrafi2000 turned up enough for the poping to go away you are probably running too rich.

The x runs rich from the factory. A little adjustment makes a big difference. Pops a little but that sounds like a growel, real cool.
